This is super late and someone probably already helped you, but just in case anyone sees this and has the same question, all you need to do is take the "saves" file out of the previous version's "game" folder and put it in the new version's.

Yeah, from what I understand he's going on two all nighters in a row trying to get this done. 

Based on what's been said in the discord, Kael has one person who helps with some small cleanup stuff, but every other thing, from the coding to the art to the CGs is all him.

He has said something on the open discord.

He mostly does updates on the discord. He's been working nonstop and has added anpther small delay so it can be up to his standards.
